Following its success in the UK, the first ever #MVPDemoDay in Africa took place yesterday, Wed 15th June, at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya.
Startups presented and demoed their exciting products and ideas to a keen and engaging audience, as well as an expert panel of judges.
Keynote speaker Manoj Changrampatt, a renowned speaker and business strategist, noted that Kenyan startups need to improve on several key areas that include graphic design, integration of their applications, specialized skills and work on products capable of scaling up Kenya’s technology exports. “Kenya is a fresh market with educated consumers, leading in internet usage in Sub-Saharan Africa and with a massive young population. Startups need to understand the market and in turn, the consumers to be able to succeed”, he added.
#MVPDEMODAY will now be held monthly and aims to offer advise and mentorship, with plans to offer seed capital in the future to founders/startups with scalable ideas.
